Min Opera

Min opera performance in a small fishing village in Southern China. The community organize a four-days long festivity for the Chinese New Year holidays to demonstrate their unity and strength. 200 people live here but during the holiday they host another 600 family members and relatives who travel to the village for this occasion, even from far places like Australia or the USA. (the smoke is coming from firecrackers outside the community hall)

Cockfight

Impromptu cockfight during the Chinese New Year festivities in a small village of Guizhou province. Spectators made bets between 5-100 RMB (1-15 USD) for the fight. The bold guy on the left is the owner of one of the birds - apparently the losing one.. He was taking his bird from village to village.
